Download Manager in Linux

When new users steps their foot from Windows into Linux, its Internet Download Manager (IDM) they miss the most. Because cracked IDM can’t be used in Linux platform. Therefore it is disappointing for people. My today’s writing is for those disappointed people.

To do this we’ll follow some steps:

Step 1:

Install FlashGot Add-on in firefox and restart the browser.

Step 2:

In my opinion, if there is any speedy download manager like IDM that is Aria2. But area2 doesn’t have any pause/resume button that’s why some people may not like this. So now, can’t we use Aria2? Yes we can but in a different way and that will be speedy and pause/resume button. Start Synaptic Package Manager and install Aria2 to do that.

Step 3:

We have to install a software from Synaptic Package Manager that is called (uGet).

Step 4:

Now its time to configure. Start the uGet software. Go to Settings from the Edit option. After that, go to Plug-in tab and check Enable aria2 plug-in +Launch aria2 on startup like the following picture:
Now from your Firefox browser go to Tools>Add-ons> Extensions >FlashGot and click Preferences.
Now from the General tab choose uGet as a download manager as shown in the picture below:

So, that’s it! Problem solved. In this way I got very good speed that’s why I shared this for all. For writing in detail it was big but to do this thing it takes a little time. I wrote this for Ubuntu, Linux mint, and Zorin-OS.
